The Lighthouse after Sunset #1
Palon Duro Canyon
Taken at sunset, this panorama attempts to capture the beauty of the Lighthouse of Palo Duro Canyon in the last light of evening. The skies were amazing, and the crescent moon was not far behind the sun as both soon disappeared behind the rocky ridge in the distance.
The Lighthouse is a hoodoo made of sandstone and shale, rising 310’ into the air high above the trail below, and is one of the most visited sights in the state park. Sunsets here are pretty amazing but bring a flashlight or two for the return trip!
