This night time image of the Milky May was taken from Trail Ridge Road at an elevation of around 11,800. From this height, the stars shine on a clear, calm night. To photograph scenes like this, I use a star tracker. This device allows the camera to follow the stars during very long exposures. Thanks to this, the stars come out sharp and clear, creating opportunities for very large prints with very little noise. Low clouds can be seen drifting through the valley below. This photograph was taken around 3:30am. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
