The famous Crystal Mill is one of the most photographed old mills in Colorado. Built in 1892, the “Old Mill” rests along the banks of the Crystal River and accessible via a very rough 4-WD road. In this image taken around midnight, the Milky Way rolls across the night sky. The night sky in this photograph was taken with a star tracker that allowed a long exposure. The foreground was taken using light painting as a means to bring definition to the woodend mill. The two images were blended together using photoshop. Photo © copyright by Rob Greebon.
