Texas State Capitol Monuments and Statues

The state capitol building is located in Austin, Texas, and the 22 acres surrounding the main building also holds, at the time of this entry , 22 monuments dedicated to key historical figures, important events, and esteemed ideas. Along with these statues and markers, the beautiful lawn of the capitol also holds several important buildings including the Visitor Center and the State Archives.

Some of the more popular monuments include the Texas Peace Officers , erected in 1999, the Tejano Monument, erected in 2012, the Texas Cowboy Monument, erected in 1925, and the monument for Terry’s Texas Rangers, first on display in 1907. On weekends, folks from all walks of life stroll the green grassy lawns, have picnics, and enjoy the peaceful environment of this beautiful area in downtown Austin.
